I believe that reading well is a skill, one that can always be improved upon. My goal is to help a child open those doors that lead to effective and meaningful reading.

As a native Floridian, I have spend most of my professional career in Florida’s public school system as a reading teacher and reading interventionist. My Florida Teacher Certifications are in English Grades 6 - 12, Elementary Education K - 6, English as a Second Language (ESOL), and Reading Endorsement.

One of my passions is helping students who are challenged by reading for whatever reason. Currently, I am enrolled in the Graduate Dyslexia Certificate program at the University of Florida to further my understanding of how to help struggling readers.

My husband and I reside in East Palatka, Florida with our dogs, ducks, and chickens. We have four adults children between us, all living nearby with our precious grandchildren. When I am not reading, you can find me in my garden, swimming in the pool, or playing with my grandchildren.
